The Drowsy Chaperone
A Musical Within a Comedy
Zach Skaggs
Directed by:
The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical farce that pays homage to Jazz-age shows from the 1920s. The show is about a modern-day musical theater fan, known as "Man in Chair" (Martin), who listens to a recording of a fictitious 1928 musical comedy called The Drowsy Chaperone to cheer himself up. The musical then magically comes to life on stage in his apartment, which is transformed into a Broadway set.
